Luan

Dr. Kevin Luan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago. He received his dental degree from King’s College London, England, receiving the prestigious Frank Ashley Prize from the British Society of Periodontology.

Following graduation, he was selected as a Thouron Scholar to attend the University of Pennsylvania where he completed his specialist training in Periodontics and Dental Implantology and received his Masters degree in Oral Biology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Board Certified in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery, Fellow of the International

College of Dentists and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

He is a Health Professions Education Fellow at Johns Hopkins University where he received his Masters of Education in Health Professions Leadership. He was recently appointed as a national board examiner for the ADEX CDCA licensure examinations. He is actively involved with American Dental Education Association as Emerging Academic Leaders Scholar, the American Dental Association’s Institute for Diversity in Leadership, and the Academy of Osseointegration’s Young Clinician Committee. Luan’s research interests include bioengineering, implant dentistry, and treatments for periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
