Dr. Matthew J. Fien is a highly accomplished periodontist, implantologist, international speaker, and educator excelling in helping to increase surgical expertise and expanding practice offerings. He is recognized as an industry advisor and consultant on best practices and strategies for success.
As Trainer and Co-founder of Surgical Influence Institute, Dr. Fien has developed a series of immersive, hands-on “Hard and Soft Tissue Grafting” courses. To date, Dr. Fien has trained thousands of dentists from around the world to perform predictable and safe hard and soft tissue augmentation procedures to improve implant treatment outcomes. In addition, he conducts presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad on bone grafting techniques and all aspects of implant dentistry.
As Co-Medical Director of InDent, he leads an international dental research group in a variety of projects with the focus on improving treatment outcomes and quality of care.
Dr. Fien’s work has been published in a variety of well respected, peer reviewed dental journals such
as the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Periodontology, The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, and the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.
Dr. Fien has also authored multiple textbook chapters on Guided Bone Regeneration and Implant Site Development.
Dr. Fien maintains a private practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a special focus on hard and soft tissue regenerative and implant dentistry.
Dr. Fien earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University as well as a Specialty Certificate in Periodontology from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Fien has also been a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 2009.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, and Southern Academy of Periodontology.
