Khang

Dr. Wahn Khang is a periodontist who received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in 1996. Following his externship as a dental resident at Ottis Coast Guard Air Base in Cape Cod, MA, Dr. Khang received his Periodontology Residency Postgraduate Certificate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, where he was honored Chief Residence and the Outstanding Resident Award.

During his residency, he completed his fellowship at the Veterans Hospital, Department of Anesthesiology in Baltimore. Dr. Khang became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery upon finishing his program. He has been practicing at the Perio Implant Center as a periodontist and implant surgeon since 1998.

Dr. Khang has had an extensive teaching and research career in periodontics and implant dentistry, instructing over 1000 resident dentists and dentists-in-training. He is a professor at the Department of Periodontics, University of Maryland, a part-time faculty member at Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine, as well as the Director for the AIC (Advance Implant Course) Education. In his last 20 years of tenure at AIC, he has taught basic and advanced surgical courses, in addition to live surgery courses for a direct, hands-on approach.

Throughout the years, he has taken a very active part in clinical practice, education, and research in periodontal and dental implant procedures, having presented numerous lectures nationally and internationally, and published research relating to periodontal and dental implant.
