Dr. Yu Wang is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an appointed faculty at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
She teaches in clinical and dedicated settings at both predoctoral and postdoctoral level while devoting time to multiple research projects.
She received extensive training in general dentistry and earned a Master of Science Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in her native Taiwan. She completed a residency in Periodontology at
Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Wang has published peer-reviewed papers and co-authored book chapters on both basic science and periodontology. She also serves as a reviewer for Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research.
With her commitment to teaching and academia, Dr. Wang received the Dr. D. Walter Cohen Teaching Award in 2017 and Educator Award in 2018 from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation.
